The Benefits of Municipal Power Washing

When people first approach your building, what they see might reveal a lot about what happens within. Over time, a building can gather dirt, grime, and mold.

The end product is a dilapidated building that looks abandoned and neglected. Regular upkeep is crucial because you don’t want to give your home the wrong image. The need of routine maintenance for municipal infrastructure is illustrated by the following:

First Impressions

Government and municipal buildings that appear to have seen better days are not places anyone likes to visit. What horrors might be waiting within if the structure appears gloomy and dreary from the outside? An appealing public facility that has been well maintained conveys that work will be done in a methodical and effective manner within.

Prevent Unwanted Pests

The accumulation of dirt and grime over time can produce unpleasant odors. Unwanted animals like raccoons and insects may be attracted by these odors. Let’s face it: a government building that is overrun with vermin isn’t the best situation. You can keep bugs and animals out of your building by maintaining cleanliness through municipal power washing services.

Health and Safety

Health and safety risks, such as those caused by dirt, mold, and mildew, will certainly impact the experience visitors have with your property. Another consideration is the fact that, when wet, dirt, moss, and mold may become slick, raising the possibility of accidents or falls. There is plenty to worry about operating your school, church, or government facility, a lawsuit is not something you should have to worry about dealing with as well.

Clearly, there are several important reasons to keep your municipal property clean. Let our team of professional municipal power washing experts help you with this.

Government and municipal structures are frequently venerable buildings with a rich heritage. However, they also frequently feature distinctive textures like marble or stone. As a result, the municipal power washing company you choose must have knowledge of how to take care of these unique surfaces.

Our team of municipal power washers work with community and government properties such as court houses, office buildings, schools, churches, and other facilities to help keep them looking like new.

One of the best ways to clean public structures, parking lots, loading docks, and other surfaces is by pressure washing. Water at high pressure can get rid of tough stains, corrosion, and filth. The water pressure can also be changed to prevent harm to the underlying surfaces. If you wish to maintain the structural integrity of a historic structure, you must use this pressure cleaning procedure.

We regularly clean surfaces that are common to community and municipal building, such as;

Concrete

Apply a degreaser first to get rid of any leftover oil or grease before pressure washing concrete. The pressure level should then be set at 3,000 PSI, with adjustments made according on the surface’s age and condition. For effective and secure cleaning, a 25-degree nozzle with a minimum distance of 8 inches between the nozzle tip and the surface is advised.

Masonry and Stone

Use low-pressure water with a fan tip kept at least 12 inches away from the surface while cleaning stone and brickwork. This is due to the fact that certain materials are more brittle and prone to breaking. Power washing should employ environmentally friendly cleaning products devoid of chemicals with a high alkaline or acidic pH for the best results.

Brick

When excessive pressure is applied, brick walls can sustain serious damage. Because of this, it is advised to keep the pressure level between 500 and 1,000 PSI and use a 40 to 60 degree nozzle to prevent etching the material or loosening the bricks. With the appropriate cleaning chemicals and a soft brush, we carefully scrape the surface to remove more difficult grime.

Wood

For wood, we use a low-pressure method and keep the pressure between 500 and 600 PSI when working with soft or old wood to prevent damage. Harder wood can withstand a greater level, but be careful to keep the pressure under 1,200 PSI to prevent etching the wood or chipping the paint. For a clean finish, we often combine a wood cleaner with a 40- or 60-degree nozzle with a fan tip.

Metal

It is advised to use low-pressure hot water, a phosphate-free cleaning solution, and a 25-degree nozzle when pressure washing metal surfaces for optimal effectiveness.

Glass

Make sure all windows are sealed and closed before power washing glass to prevent water from entering the building. Then, it is advised to wash glass surfaces with low-pressure water (1,200–2,000 PSI), a 60-degree tip, and a powerful cleaning agent.
